A Stronger Economy
At full build, the Crescent Corridor will generate:
- 73,000 new jobs by 2030 - 47,000 of them by 2020
- $560 million in annual logistics savings
- 50 million square feet of new industrial and warehouse space
- Insulation for domestic production from global sourcing
- Competitive lengths of haul for shippers and consumers - essential if energy prices remain volatile and dependence on highway transport continues to grow
A stronger economy
The Crescent Corridor is an economic engine with long-term horsepower.
By 2020, it will generate nearly $16 in benefits for every $1 of investment and, by 2030, it will generate nearly $25 in benefits for every $1 of investment.
The Crescent Corridor will be a $2.5 billion driver generating good jobs, sparking development opportunities along the line, and connecting consumers and businesses to the global marketplace.
And it will be an efficiency driver, freeing up $480 million in additional annual capital that could be made available for industries to expand production and employment.
The result: stronger tax bases for communities, more options for America’s industry.
